Project Overview

As part of Brooklyn’s ambitious Greenpoint Landing master plan, 16 Dupont Street offers a sleek 40-story residential experience along the waterfront. Developed by Rockefeller Group and Park Tower Group and built by Monadnock Construction, the building includes 381 rental units, street-level retail and 138 indoor parking spaces. Designed by GKV Architects, the tower reflects a lifestyle built around convenience, mobility and digital access.

The SMS Approach

Security Management Systems (SMS) was brought in to design and deploy a fully integrated access and surveillance system to match the building’s smart-living aspirations. The goal was simple: give residents and staff a secure, streamlined way to manage entry – without the hassle of multiple platforms or hardware solutions.

Technology Highlights

 Integrated solutions included:

  • 420 Comelit apartment intercom units for tenant communication

  • 450 doors using the Latch smart access control system

  • 100 Vivotek surveillance cameras managed through Exacq VMS

  • Area of refuge intercom systems to support life safety compliance

Results

With mobile-first access and centralized control, 16 Dupont now operates with a single, cohesive security platform. Residents can enter apartments, access amenities and manage visitors all from their smartphones, while building management gains greater oversight and efficiency. SMS delivered a user-friendly system that meets the expectations of today’s tech-savvy residents.
